Days: 3

£335

Join us for a tour around the beautiful Lake District in the north west of England.

Friday 15th May

Leaving Dalkeith at 9:00 am on Friday morning, we head down through Kielder Forest and over Hartside Pass before heading into The Lake District and on to Cockermouth, for the evening.

Saturday 16th May

Get ready for an unforgettable ride through the heart of the Lake District, tackling its most iconic passes and drinking in world-famous scenery. This tour is designed for riders who crave challenge, history, and the ultimate twisting road experience.

Iconic Passes and Dramatic Vistas:

We kick off the day immediately with a baptism of bends! We’ll conquer the famous trifecta of passes: Whinlatter, Newlands, and Honister Pass. Each corner opens to a new, dramatic Lake District vista, providing a thrilling start to the tour. Ride along the scenic eastern shore of Derwent Water. Skirt the western edge of Ullswater before hitting the formidable Kirkstone Pass. Experience The Struggle—a route that truly challenges your riding skills while rewarding you with breathtaking views from the summit.

Speed Legends and Lakeside Thrills:

Leaving Ambleside, our route shifts focus to the shimmering waters of Coniston Water, famous for Malcolm Campbell’s Bluebird water speed record attempts. Feel the same thrill of speed and precision as you ride alongside the waters that witnessed his daring runs. We’ll arrive in Coniston Village for a well-earned lunch break at the themed Bluebird Cafe, surrounded by fascinating memorabilia celebrating Campbell’s historic achievements.

The Ultimate Challenge:

The afternoon is dedicated to the ultimate test of man and machine: the legendary twins, Wrynose Pass and Hardknott Pass. Tackle the steepest and most exhilarating climbs in the region, including the infamous hairpin bends of Hardknott. After the passes, we’ll sweep down onto the roads of Corney Fell, enjoying the coastal views. Take a breather and soak in the history at Muncaster Castle before the final leg. Enjoy the final northern ride back to Cockermouth via the panoramic, undulating roads of Cold Fell, offering a sense of open space and rewarding views of the coast and fells as you complete a truly legendary day.

A full day of legendary passes, historic lakeside views, and high-octane thrills—the definitive Lake District ride.

Sunday 17th May

A more leisurely start to the day, leaving Cockermouth at 10:00 am, heading back into the Scottish Borders and onto some lovely roads back to MotoJoe HQ in Dalkeith.
